Early Wireless Set Advertisements


An advertisement by The Westralian Farmers Ltd (now Wesfarmers Ltd) of 569 Wellington Street Perth for a set of parts ready for assembly into a one valve wireless receiver whch was claimed to be the equivalent to a two valve set. Burndept were an early manufacturer of radio sets. They were founded in the UK in 1919.

Western Radio Limited was registered in September 1924 with £10,000 capital in £1 shares. They marketed the "entirely British" Burndept Ethophone V Mk14 in a cabinet with a deluxe Ethovox loudspeaker with an advertised price of £120. The standard model was £92. They were located in His Majesty's Theatre Buildings, 839 Hay Street, Perth.
